HAIR STRUCTURE – HOMOEPATHIC TREATMENT OF HAIRS
Hair are elongated keratinized structure. Keratin is a special protein, which is resistant to wear and tear. It is the protein that also makes up the nails. The diameter of a single hair fiber varies from person to person but it is usually around 0.05 to 0.09 millimeters.
There are 3 stages in the life of hair at one time
90% of hair is growing while about 10% should be resting.
ANAGEN:
This is the name for the growing period of a hair follicle. The anagen stage of the hair follicle in the scalp typically last about 3 to 5 years
CATAGEN:
At the end of growth period hair follicle prepare themselves for the resting stage. This Stage of the hair growth cycle usually lasts about 1 to 2 weeks. During Catagen phase the deeper portions of the hair follicle start to collapse.
TELOGEN:
This is the resting period of a hair follicle. It is usually of 3 to 4 months in length and at the end of this period older hair that have finished their life will fall out.
Hair typically grows around 0.5 inches each month and there is not much we can do to make them grow faster, however, can slow its growth.
STEPS TO PREVENT HAIR DAMAGE
TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR
Not taking proper care of your hair can damage it and slow its growth.
A) Stay away from chemicals such as peroxide while coloring, use shampoo made for colored hair.
B) Your body naturally produces oil that coats your hair and protects it. Washing and conditioning is a good thing but do it on another day to protect exposure to excessive chemicals
C) Avoid chemical in the environment such as chlorine.
D) The way you style your hair is important combing through knot can damage hair follicle and tight hairstyles like ponytails, cornrows, and plaits braids can also cause damage.
E) Heat will damage your hairs.
i) Better to allow air dry rather than using a blow dry.
ii) Avoid blow dryers, curling irons and hot rollers.
iii) Washing or rinsing with normal tap water is better than doing so with hot water
AVOID CONTINUOUS AND PROLONGED SUN EXPOSURE
If you must be in direct sunlight in long periods.
Consider wearing a hat or putting a scarf.
EAT AND DRINK HEALTHY

- Hair is made of protein so if you are not taking protein you hair will grow slow, hair also requires vitamin B, C, and E getting enough fruits and vegetable is good.
- Smoking is bad for health don’t do it.
- Limited consumption of sweets and processed foods and drinks especially soda, caffeinated beverages, and those with alcohol.
- High level of stress can slow or even stop your hair growth.
- Full night sleep and exercise to relax will limit your stress.
